Producing: Instructor Tony Armer, Tyler Martinolich
Thursdays 6-9PM (September 26, October 3, 9, 17, 24, 31, November 7, 14)

Description:
This class will teach students an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of creative and physical production.  Students learn the fundamentals of development, pre-production, production, post-production, financing, talent acquisition, distribution and marketing of film.   This overview will teach students how to find financing, get name actors and talent, work with SAG and other unions, develop a comprehensive business plan and how to get their film started, shot and distributed.

Instructor Bios:

Tyler Martinolich
An MFA graduate from the Savannah College of Art & Design, Tyler has over twelve years of producing experience.  He has worked in the capacity as a production manager or line producer on numerous commercials for clients such as Coke, Publix, the Florida Lotto, PBS, NOAA, and the US Government.  He has also produced or production managed various feature films.  Most notable, faith based film The Glass Window, and more recently Sunlight Jr, featuring academy award nominated stars Matt Dillion and Naomi Watts.  Budgets on projects he has worked range from $200k - $5 million.

Mr. Martinolich is also an avid writer. Having previously been the recipient of the Hollins Book Award for excellence in creative writing, in addition he was named a Florida writing scholar, which came with a full scholarship to attend his undergraduate university. He is also the recipient of substantial artistic and academic fellowships through the Savannah College of Art & Design.

 

Tony Armer
Tony Armer is an Award Winning Filmmaker that has worked in the TV/film industry since 1997.  His work experience includes Hollywood feature films, documentary features, independent features, television and music videos.  He is the Co-founder and Executive Director of the Sunscreen Film Festival held annually in St. Petersburg, FL.  Founded in 2005 the Sunscreen Film Festival is one of the top film fests in the country.   It was voted one of the “25 Coolest Film Festivals in the Country” by Movie Maker Magazine in 2009, Best Film Fest in Tampa Bay by Tampa Bay Magazine for 2012 and has been honored as one of only 23 Film fests in the USA to be sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (The Oscars) for 2013.
The fest regularly attracts several hundred filmmakers and top entertainment industry talent to the Tampa Bay area.  Guests have included actors John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Patrick Wilson, Billy Dee Williams, Jeff Donovan, Michael Rooker and Bill Cobbs.  Producers Ralph Winter (X-Men, Fantastic Four), Sean Covel & Chris “Doc” Wyatt (Napoleon Dynamite), Screenwriters Steven de Souza (Die Hard, 48 Hours), and Timothy J. Sexton (Oscar nominated for Children of Men), as well as numerous actors, distributors, sales agents, casting directors and producers.  
Tony studied Communications at the University of Toledo, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Business Management from Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL and is finishing an MFA in Motion Pictures and Television from Academy of Art University, San Francisco.  He is also currently an Adjunct Professor at the Art Institute of Tampa.
