Animated Short Film Block - 6:15-7:15pm - Muvico Sundial

"Weeping Willow" (4 min.; directed by Ethem Onur Bilgiç)
There was a man; who fought through his entire life. He rode from one attack to another, marched on his horse. He was a brave soldier, fought with his pride. But maybe, it was time to watch the soldiers going along the setting sun under the shade of Weeping Willow.

"KiaRex" (3 min.; directed by Yandong Qiu)
Kia, a two year old boy, is swept away by his imagination. After chasing after his favorite toy he envisions a world filled with dinosaurs and adventure.

"The Lost Mariner" (5 min.; directed by Tess Martin)
The Lost Mariner is an animated interpretation of Dr. Oliver Sacks’ case study found in his book The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat. It uses photographs to visualize the rare memory condition of patient Jimmie G.

"SUMER" (10 min.; directed by Alvaro Garcia)
All animal and plant species perished decades ago. All that remains is one small group of humans who attempt to resist the hostility and hardness of the external environment from SUMER, the last hive city in the world. 

"SHADOWS" (11 min.; directed by Isaac Kerlow)
Life as usual is interrupted when a band of intruders decide to destroy the centuries-old rain forest in a single day. Unaware that one of their own has betrayed them, the villagers are unable to protect the forest until an unexpected ally uses her powers to help

"Journey to the Olympus" (6 min.; directed by Olga Guse)
The film has two story lines. The first one shows life on Mount Olympus: the world of the Greek gods, Apollo, Athena, Zeus, Hermes and the Minotaur, and the surrounding mythical symbols. The gods rejoice, weep and interact, which means, they live on Olympus.
The second story line is about the journey of a small ship to Olympus. On his way it overcomes all kinds of obstacles - from the stormy seas to mythical monsters. The ship symbolizes the fearless spirit of the hero, who throughout his life, being of good cheer, moves towards his goal, Olympus.

"The Belief" (2 min.; directed by Amir Vahedi)
The enemy attacked the country and war began. A pair of Soldier boots was being putting on by a man who are invisible. The boots get ready to go fight against the enemy, but when the boots saw the other fragment boots in the battlefield. They refused to go forward. The man puts off the boots and step forward to the front fighting with the enemy.

"Mike & Wayne: The Grind" (2 min.; directed by Esteban Valdez)
Mike & Wayne, the titular characters of a new short film by Echo Bridge Pictures, are not the sharpest knives in the proverbial drawer. Their mission is simple: get rich quick by robbin’ and stealin’.

"Simorgh" (4 min.; directed by Meghdad Asadi Lari)
When Persian calligraphic art, music and ornament designs get together and bring an old mythical Persian story to life.

"Dead Moon Walking" (2 min.; directed by MAKE)
A Series of shorts putting two innocent explorers in harm’s way.

"LADY and the Frog" (3 min.; directed by Tina T. Hsu)
A frog wakes up in a bag of mixed vegetables at a supermarket. A lady runs by and grabs the bag.

"Mario" (3 min.; directed by Tess Martin)
In Italian playgrounds a song is chanted that dates back to World War I. This paint on glass animation tells this dark tale of a soldier who returns home from war to find his girlfriend has left him.

"Run" (3 min.; directed by Taylor Mobley)
A young boy struggles to escape the monster corrupting his world.

"KIKO'S PARADISE" (9 min.; directed by Paco Gisber)
Kiko is a “magician” who, with a pencil, brings his creations to life: beautiful teddy bear dolls. While in a world tour with his dolls Kiko has an airplane crash and remains trapped for twenty years on an island with only one surviving doll: Boro the teddy bear.
